Nana’s Haven was founded in memory of Nana the Samoyed, who was a true warrior. Nana was saved from the meat trade by Slaughter House Survivor—a rescue organization saving dogs from the dog meat trade in China. She was then diagnosed with an aggressive form of terminal cancer and traveled to New York City, where she was adopted by our founder, Lauren. Nana lived life to the fullest and touched the hearts of many in her short time with Lauren. Through Nana's Instagram, a beautiful community was built. Strangers from all over the world became Nana's cheerleaders. She inspired a need to help more dogs like her who are victims of the meat trade. In May 2020, sassy Nana sadly passed away, but her spirit lives on. And thus, Nana's Haven was born. Nana’s Haven is a non-profit, no-kill dog rescue organization located in New York, Florida, South Korea, and China.
